On October 26, 2021, the Tax Court issued a Memorandum Opinion in the case of Tribune Media Company v. Commissioner (T.C. Memo. 2021-122). The primary issue presented in Tribune Media Company v. Commissioner was whether the Ricketts family (a partner of the petitioner in “Chicago Baseball Holdings, LLC”) entered into a “bona fide debt” for tax purposes.
